Somec: new orders and extensions worth over €28 million in marine glazing

Somec S.p.A. announces the award of new orders and the update of existing agreements for a total value of over €28 million. The contracts, awarded to the Horizons division, cover glazing systems for newbuild cruise ships, commissioned on a continuing basis by a leading shipbuilding group on behalf of a major international operator in the luxury cruise segment, together with extensions to existing contracts on the same series.

The scope for the new units includes the design, manufacture and installation of complete glazing systems: windows and doors, balcony solutions redesigned as a natural extension of the suites towards the outside, glazing for the public areas and the navigation bridge.

These ships belong to the highest segment of the global cruise industry: compact in size and with a limited number of berths, they are vessels where glazing plays a central architectural role and directly contributes to the quality of the onboard experience.

The activities will take place between 2027 and 2035, with economic effects spread across the entire period.
