Somec: further major contracts in naval glazing for 54 million euros

Somec S.p.A. announces the acquisition of new contracts totalling 54 million euros. The two separate orders, awarded by a leading Italian shipbuilding group, concern the supply and installation of marine glazing systems on seven newbuild cruise liners for two major international cruise operators.

The first order, worth 44 million euros, concerns the supply and installation of glazing systems on five cruise ships. The scope includes the complete supply of the cabin balcony areas.

The second order is worth approximately 10 million euros and includes the supply and installation of public areas glazing aboard two new ships.

The nature of the works entrusted to Somec reflects the central role that marine glazing elements play in new-generation vessels, where visibility, natural light and visual continuity between interior and exterior have become distinctive design features.

Operations on both contracts will begin in 2027 and conclude in 2036, with economic effects distributed across the entire period.

These new contracts bring the total value of orders acquired and communicated to the market during the first half of the 2026 financial year to over 330 million euros, with contributions from all three Group divisions: Horizons, Talenta and Mestieri.
