MESTIERI: TSI secures contract worth over 41 million euro

Somec S.p.A. has secured a new contract worth over 41 million Euro for its Mestieri: Design and Production of Bespoke Interiors Division through its subsidiary TSI (Total Solution Interiors).

The contract covers three cruise ships of a new design class, under construction by a leading Italian shipbuilding group for a major North American cruise operator with an international footprint.

Deliveries are scheduled for 2029, 2031, and 2033, while design activities will begin in 2027, with the first vessel serving as the lead ship of the new platform. The economic impact is expected between 2027 and 2032.With a gross tonnage of approximately 230,000 GT and a maximum capacity in the region of 8,000 passengers, these vessels rank among the largest currently under construction globally in the cruise sector.

TSI will be responsible for the design, production, and outfitting of approximately 5,800 square metres of public areas on each ship. The scope includes around ten themed restaurants and bars, including a dedicated brewery, as well as family-oriented spaces featuring a video-game arcade, a Treehouse connected to the Promenade via two internal slides, and areas dedicated to children and teenagers.

In a context of increasing design complexity, TSI’s single point of contact approach ensures integrated coordination and control across the entire project lifecycle. This contract, the largest ever secured by TSI, guarantees long-term operational visibility.
